Frequently asked questions

Questions, answered.

Everything couples ask before they marry in Las Vegas. Cannot find yours? Call 1-800-823-3435.

Attire

Will we need to be dressed before we arrive, or is there a place to change?

Our chapel has a place to change, but most brides arrive already dressed.

Can you recommend an inexpensive place to rent a gown or tuxedo?

Yes. Your best bet is to dress at the Princess Wedding Chapel, where we offer a good selection at very reasonable prices and make sure you are never late to your own wedding.

International couples

What do we need to bring if we are from outside the country?

In most cases your passport is fine, but some countries require an Apostille for the marriage to be legal there. See our license information.

Will our marriage certificate be legal in our country?

Yes, but you will need a certified copy of your marriage license, or an Apostille, as soon as your marriage has been recorded with the State.

Guests

Is there a maximum number of guests?

Inside the chapel the number is limited by its size and may vary with your package. The Princess Wedding Chapel holds up to 70 guests standing.

Previous marriages

If we have been divorced, do we need proof?

No. You only need to know the month, year, city and state where the divorce was finalized and recorded.

What if we have multiple divorces?

You only need the details of the most recent divorce.

Limousine service

How does the limousine service in the package work?

It depends on the package. A limousine can collect you from your hotel, wait while you marry and take you to your hotel or drop-off point within your one-hour package time, or collect you after the ceremony for a one-hour tour.

Is the driver’s tip included?

No. Packages cover services connected to the chapel. Gratuities are separate and are collected by your coordinator before the wedding.

How much should we tip the driver?

Most people give a minimum of $25, depending on service and generosity.

Marriage license

When is the best time to get our license?

Before the wedding takes place. Some packages include limousine service from your hotel to the courthouse and then the chapel, but leaving it until an hour before the ceremony limits your time.

What documents do we need?

Any one of: state driver’s license, state ID card, military ID, original or certified birth certificate, or passport.

How much does a license cost?

The marriage license fee is $55 (cash only). See license information for details.

Can we use a license from our home state?

No. You must obtain your license in Nevada, preferably at the courthouse in Las Vegas. You may also apply via the internet; see our license page.

What if we lose our license?

Visit our license information page for how to get a copy.

Minister’s fee

How much is the minister’s fee, and why is it not in the package?

Most people give a minimum of $60 for a chapel wedding and $100 for a destination wedding, depending on the giver, the minister’s time and the location. Ministers are not employees, so the fee is an offering to their ministry; you may give more if you wish.

Should we pay the minister up front?

We will provide you an envelope for your gift on the day.

Photos & video

Can we take our own photos or video?

You may not be able to during the ceremony unless arranged with your wedding planner, and an on-site fee may apply. Please ask your planner for details.

Renewal of vows

What do we need to renew our vows?

Nothing proving your marriage, unless you want a new license. A minister is only needed if you are actually getting married. The only document you receive is a renewal certificate from the chapel.

Reservations

How can we reserve a date and time?

Contact us to book and we will send a confirmation. The earlier you book the better. We can guarantee your date; you may need to be flexible by an hour or two on time of day, and once your time is confirmed it is guaranteed.
